Waste services continue

Waste services are an essential service to the community and will continue to operate throughout the COVID-19 health crisis.

The City of Greater Geraldton is doing everything possible to ensure waste services continue during this time and have established plans with contracts to ensure a continued service for the community.

Community members are reminded that kerbside bin collection will take place as normal with no changes, other than the usual upcoming Easter changes which can be found on the City’s website.

Meru Landfill and Tip Shop are operational but as per directions from authorities, the City urges the community to only attend the facility if essential.

In order to comply with State Government directions the facility has implemented measures to comply with social distancing requirements and users of the facility are reminded to follow the protocols around hygiene as well.

The number of transfer station bays for unloading of waste have been reduced to two bays.

The reduction to two bays means there may be a slight delay during peak times but please be patient and undertake good social distancing during this wait period.

The community is also advised to use tap and pay services and avoid using cash at the facility when possible.

That City would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding during this difficult time and please remain calm, together we will get through this.

Community members are reminded they can still contact the City through phone on (08)9956 6600 or email council@cgg.wa.gov.au
