Tourists will soon be able to enjoy a coffee and snack whilst learning about the local attractions following Council’s decision to lease the Visitor Centre Café to a local catering company.

Tarts and Co Catering will be serving refreshments from locally sourced produce from the café located at the rear of the Visitor Centre seven days a week and during Foreshore events.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said Council’s decision to lease the small kiosk and alfresco deck area will benefit visitors and locals alike.

“I am very pleased to see a local business further developing their portfolio by taking the opportunity to expand the range of services available to tourists at the Visitor Centre,” he said.

“Members of our community will also be pleased to once again be able to get a coffee whilst visiting the Youth Precinct or spending time at the beach.”

Pending the outcome of the statutory minimum 14-day public comment period and required Ministerial approval, Tarts and Co is planning to open for business as soon as possible.
