Since launching in 2021, the program has gone from strength to strength and continues to inject much needed funds into the local economy, all while supporting local businesses.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn reminded locals to have the Gift Cards front of mind when shopping this Christmas.
“We all know thinking of gift ideas can sometimes be a struggle, but we’re hoping purchasing a Greater Geraldton Buy Local Gift Card will help take the pressure off,” he said.
“It’s the perfect present as it can be spent at over 80 of our amazing local businesses – meaning there is a huge variety!
“Not only will you be spoiling that special someone, but the money you spend stays local and supports our wonderful community.”
Local businesses also are also reminded to have the Gift Cards in mind if you’re thinking of rewarding staff for another big year.
More than $230,000 has boosted the local economy thanks to the program with over 2,500 Gift Cards purchased.
As part of the Greater Geraldton Buy Local Gift Card Christmas campaign, there will be various giveaways and competitions taking place at participating stores.
If you purchase a Gift Card at Cellarbrations Central, Cellarbrations Wonthella, Cellarbrations Queens, Mitchell and Brown Retravision, Queens Supa IGA, Rigters Supa IGA, Wonthella Supa IGA and Ivy Vibe – you will go into the draw to double your gift card amount.
There will also be giveaways at Rogue Pony, Geraldton Ceramics, Gearing Butchers – Bluff Point, Skeetas Café and Restaurant, Read A Lot Books and Shine Aviation. Keep an eye out on the City’s Facebook page for more details on how to win.
Buy Local Greater Geraldton Gift Cards are available at any IGA Group stores (Rigters, Queens and Wonthella), Mitchell and Brown Retravision, Cellarbrations Bottle Shops, Ivy Vibe, Sportsfirst Geraldton as well as online.
The program is made possible through ongoing support from partners Rio Tinto, GWN7, Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rigters IGA Group and Mitchell and Brown Retravision.
