Looking for ways to keep the kids happy this break? The Spring School Holiday Program is overflowing with ideas that will keep kids of all ages entertained.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn was delighted to introduce the latest edition of the popular program.

“The School Holiday Program has become a staple for parents and carers looking for new and exciting ways to keep the kids busy during the break,” he said.

“If you’re still looking for ways to chase the adventure here in the Midwest, grab a program and start planning!”

Free City-run activities include the return of the two day soccer clinic, wheelchair basketball and dungeon and dragons sessions, plus a new addition of Pokemon GO walking tours.

Big Sky Readers and Writers Festival offers a bumper line up of events for kids of all ages, including journal making, storytelling, sessions with WA author and illustrator Josh Langley and much more. Places in these events are extremely limited, so registration via Eventbrite is essential.

The School Holiday Program also sees the return of free movie screenings on the Foreshore, with a showing of the family-friendly movie Missing Link on Friday 2 October and My Spy on Friday 9 October.

The crew from Infinity Skate WA are back with free learn to skateboard sessions for both beginners and intermediate riders.

Knit Wits will be hosting a variety of activities at Fitzgerald Hall in Bluff Point from 3-6 October. Kids of all ages can come down and learn how to knit, crochet, loom and so much more.

For those kids who want to get out and have a swing of the racquet, Geraldton Badminton Club will be running a school holiday clinic during the first week of holidays and Dynamic Tennis Coaching will be hosting a tennis clinic during the second week.

Mullewa activities include pizza making, skate clinic, sports carnivals and the Mullewa Mental Health Day, an afternoon of activities the whole family can take part in on 12 October from 12-4pm at Lions Park.
