Do you know someone in our community that is constantly giving back? The Australia Day Community Citizen of the Year Awards recognise local legends, and you can nominate an individual or group for an award.

The Awards celebrate outstanding service in our community and locals are urged to acknowledge those who have made a positive contribution.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn encouraged the public to nominate.

“It’s important that we acknowledge our local legends who consistently give back and make Greater Geraldton a great place to live, work, study and play,” he said.

“Nominating an individual or group is an easy process, which can be completed online in a few minutes.”

Geraldton’s Australia Day Community Citizen of the Year Awards categories include:

  • Community Citizen of the Year (overall)
  • Senior Community Citizen of the Year (65 years or over)
  • Young Community Citizen of the Year (under 25 years)
  • Active Citizenship Award (community group or event)
  • City of Greater Geraldton Young Achiever of the Year (18 years and under)

Mullewa’s Australia Day Community Citizen of the Year Award categories include:
