Opportunities are now open for local tourism, retail and hospitality businesses in the Midwest, to create pre and post offers for delegates attending the upcoming 2021 WA Regional Tourism Conference in Geraldton.

Tickets for the event will go on sale in March, which will take place from 3-5 May 2021, with Perth Airport as the naming rights sponsor.

Geraldton is the host town for this hallmark event presented by a group of industry partners - Tourism Council WA, Visitor Centres WA, WAITOC, Caravan Industry Association WA and FACET, and supported by Tourism WA and the City of Greater Geraldton.

The event will welcome up to 300 delegates and various speakers from across WA.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn believes the event presents Geraldton and the Midwest with an outstanding opportunity to showcase its offerings to the industry and grow its reputation as a tourism destination.

“This is a huge opportunity to shine the spotlight on our local tourism industry and promote our local tourism operators to the wider industry whilst growing our economy,” he said.

“Tourism, hospitality and retail businesses are encouraged to head to the Visit Geraldton website to register their business and packages.

“We are fostering a collaborative approach with tourism operators to deliver delegates with an all-encompassing experience of our region and we want to encourage them to visit early.”

There is the opportunity for all operators to be a part of the Conference by offering pre and post conference specials to the delegates attending the conference which would apply on Saturday and Sunday, 1 - 2 May, and Thursday and Friday 6 - 7 May 2021.

The City will develop a promotional brochure to market the offers that will linked to promotions of the Conference when tickets go on sale next month.

Businesses can head to the Visit Geraldton website to register now.
