New locations for blue plastic recycle bins in Geraldton

The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise that as of the 1 August 2018 the City will be taking over the operations and servicing of the blue plastics bin program from NACC and MEEDAC.

MEEDAC will still process the material to be sent to Perth but the City will be servicing all the blue plastic bins.

A review of the bin locations has taken place due to recent vandalism to ensure the sites are maintained in a safe location.

The locations of the bins now include:

  • Beachlands Primary School – Corner of Whitfield St and Bradley St
  • Bluff Point Primary School – 18 Mitchell St
  • Caltex Sunset Beach – 620 Chapman Road
  • Drummond Cove Hall – 61 Whitehill Road
  • Geraldton Primary School – Augustus St
  • Geraldton Surf Lifesaving Club – 260 Willcock Drive
  • Leaning Tree Community School – 15 Bayly St
  • Mt Tarcoola Primary School – Acacia St
  • Paringa Park – Paringa St, Mount Tarcoola
  • PCYC – 105 Pass St, Wonthella
  • QEII Seniors and Community Centre Carpark – 88 Durlacher Street
  • Strathalbyn Christian College – 15 Cedar Cres
  • Tip Shop - 61 Landfill Lane, Narngulu
  • Waggrakine Primary School – Hall Rd
  • Wandina Primary School – 29 Ajax Dr

The community is encouraged to recycle their type 1 and 2 plastics in these bins.

Please note if large amounts of other waste contaminate the plastic bins regularly the program will need to be reviewed to ensure the waste stream is continuing to be diverted from landfill.
