The City of Greater Geraldton has reviewed its Integrated Transport Strategy, a plan for how to safely and efficiently move around the City, and released it for community feedback.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said the updated 2021 Integrated Transport Strategy strengthens community wellbeing by guiding local, state and federal government and private sector investment into local transport networks.

“The demand for sustainable travel such as cycling or public transport which reduces our carbon footprint by decreasing the use of private vehicles to get around the City is growing every year,” he said.

“Providing a network of well-planned roads, safe walking and cycling environments, high quality public transport and efficient freight corridors that better support the needs of the community are essential to the health, prosperity and vibrancy of the City.

“This updated strategy will continue to assist the City, Main Roads WA, the Public Transport Authority, non-government agencies and the private sector to work together to identify and deliver the projects that will make the City a better place to live.”

Members of the community can review and provide feedback on the Draft 2021 Integrated Transport Strategy online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CGGITS.  Hard copies of the plan and feedback forms are also available at the City Civic Centre. The deadline to submit feedback is 9am on Monday 24 May 2021.
