Have your say on events in the City region

If you love local events you won’t want to miss your opportunity to tell the City of Greater Geraldton what you like about them most and how they could be improved by taking our events survey.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said just how important events and festivals are to the community became evident in the last six months.

“One of the casualties of the COVID-19 pandemic has been the restrictions on gatherings that resulted in the cancellation of all events and festivals in the City region,” he said.

“It’s only once events like the WoW Fest and Mullewa Muster and Rodeo aren’t held that the community realises how significant these events really are.

“Events not only bring people together to celebrate who we are and what we love, they also provide an important economic boost to our local economy which benefits the whole community.”

Although the City has been unable to deliver any in-person events in the last six months, staff have utilised the time to begin developing a comprehensive events strategy.

Feedback received from the community through the survey will help define the City’s role in providing events and how we support community groups and organisations delivering events across our City region.

If you would like to have your say on events in Greater Geraldton you can take the online survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CGGEvents

Hard copies of the survey are also available at the City Civic Centre, Geraldton Regional Library, Geraldton Visitor Centre, QEII Seniors and Community Centre and the Mullewa District Office.  Survey closes Monday 14 September 2020 at 9am.
