How Did I Get Here? is the latest exhibition to feature at the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery (GRAG) and brings together photographs and videos for audiences to explore and question.

It is also the first touring exhibition from Art Gallery of WA (AGWA) in 20 years and a partnership with ART ON THE MOVE called Freighting Ideas.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn encouraged members of the community to attend the opening.

“If you are a lover of photography, film or art in general then you need to make your way to GRAG this Friday night,” he said.

“There’s always a lot of work behind photography, and audiences are encouraged to think about how each piece came to be and what was involved in getting the shot or video.

“We’ll also have a special visitor here for the occasion who is no stranger to Geraldton and is sure to get the crowd giggling.”

Famous Sharron has visited the region on numerous occasions and will return as Freighting Ideas Audience Ambassador and to put her own unique spin on opening night including a panel session between Colin Walker, Mayor Shane Van Styn and local artists Daryl Wilson and Lizzie Robison.

How Did I Get Here? features works by leading photographers Tony Albert, Michael Cook, Petrina Hicks, David Rosetzky, Graham Miller, Toni Wilkinson and Anne Zahalka. It is funded through the State Government Regional Exhibition Touring Boost through the Royalties for Regions program.

Members of the community are invited to attend the opening on Friday 13 March at 6pm. The exhibition will conclude on Saturday 11 April.

The following day on Saturday 14 March there will be a floor talk with a difference from Famous Sharron and RSVPs can be made by clicking here
