More food and fun are on the cards for the Geraldton Foreshore with Council approving for advertising a second sea container/ transportable food outlet that will also hire games and sporting equipment.

Hogs Express, a subsidiary of Hogs Breath Café, is being considered for a potential five-year lease for a sea container/ transportable café and will now be advertised accordingly, seeking input on the proposed lease.

The outlet, which is proposed to be located on the grassed area between the Foreshore promenade and the Lot 601 gravel carpark, plans to serve burgers, chicken wings, pork ribs and salads and offer outdoor games and equipment for hire including bikes and tuk-tuks.

The popular watersports equipment hire Ultimate Watersports will also be back again this summer with Council extending their licence to operate at Town Beach for another two years.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said activating the Foreshore is good for the community and the local economy.

“Residents and tourists absolutely love visiting our beautiful Foreshore,” he said.

“We are a coastal City and people want to be able to grab something to eat and drink while they are enjoying the Foreshore views or taking part in activities and watersports while they are there.

“The additional café and continued operation of Ultimate Watersports will enhance the overall Foreshore experience for residents and hopefully attract even more visitors to our City.”

Pending the outcome of the statutory minimum 14-day public comment period and required Ministerial approval, Hogs Express is planning to open as soon as possible.
