Published on Thursday, 26 July 2018 at 11:03:53 AM

The City invites expressions of interest from local businesses/organisations interested in visiting China as part of a City delegation to be led by the Mayor from 12th to 22nd September 2018.

Duration of the mission is 11 days. The tour starts and ends in Perth.

Businesses/organisations participating in the delegation will have to cover their delegate’s travel and accommodation expenses.

As with past delegations to China, the City will provide a mission coordinator and translator.

Local businesses are invited to join the City’s delegation to:

  1. Zhanjiang in Guangdong Province – the City’s Sister City
  2. Zhoushan in Zhejiang Province - the City’s Strategic Partner City
  3. Linfen in Shanxi Province – the City’s Strategic Partner City

The activities of the visit include:

  •  Meeting with government officials, networking with business leaders from tourism and media industries;
  •  Pre-matched meetings with private sector interests including:
    • Tourism;
    • Trade;
    • Education;
  • Other requested industries.
  • Attending the Tourism Development Conference of Shanxi Province scheduled for 19-21 September 2017.

The estimated cost for the trip including economy airfares, meals, transportation and 4 star accommodation would be approximately $5000 per person.

To ensure the quality and outcomes of the mission, the number of delegates is limited. The City may have to cap the number of delegates on a first-come-first-served basis.

Expressions of interest from local businesses to join the delegation should include the delegate name, one recent passport photo, organisation name and contact details and an overview of relevant goods/services provided by the organisation.

Businesses interested in pre-matched meetings with Chinese businesses should clearly indicate that, in their expression of interest.
