Community members are set to be dazzled by the night sky when Gunnado Farm hosts an evening of stargazing for the whole family during National Reconciliation Week.

Astro Star Tours have come together with other local organisations to put on the free Emu in the Sky stargazing event from 5.45pm on Friday 3 June.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn encouraged people to attend.

“National Reconciliation Week is a chance to celebrate coming together as one people and healing our nation’s wounds,” he said.

“Spending a night under the stars learning stories and lessons from our First Nations people is a wonderful way to move forward with that.

“It will make for a magical evening and I look forward to experiencing it with the community.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chair, blanket, torch, and nibbles. Light refreshments will also be on hand during the evening.

Stargazers can also bring their own device to unlock an interactive experience by downloading the Star Chart app available on iTunes and Google Play.

Tickets to attend this all ages, drug, and alcohol free event are available via Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/336177545087

Free transport is also available from the QEII Seniors and Community Centre. Seats are limited, contact 9956 6930 to secure your place.

The event is supported by Astro Star Tours, MEEDAC, the Salvation Army, Radio Mama 100.5fm, Apex Australia, and the City of Greater Geraldton.
