Local contractors who built the new City owned State Emergency Services Building and Animal Management Facility were big winners in the recently announced 2019 Master Builders Awards.

Geraldton Building Services & Cabinets won the award for the Best Government Building for construction of the SES building and Crothers Construction Pty Ltd took home two awards for the Best Public Use Building and Best Building Fit-Out for construction of the Geraldton Animal Management Facility.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said he was very pleased to see the two local companies recognised for their work, which continues to benefit the community.

“On behalf of our community I’d like to congratulate both companies on winning these industry awards,” he said.

“I’d also like to thank them for their dedication to these projects and recognise the fantastic work of their local employees who constructed these important, purpose built, facilities.

“At Council we love to award contracts and tenders to those companies who not only offer best value, but also offer best quality.

“So it’s great to see that the criteria is being met by our local companies and we will continue to support local business and stimulate our economy as best as we can.”
