Community Grant recipients announced

Over $90,000 has been awarded to local community groups and organisations following Round 24 of the City of Greater Geraldton’s Community Grants Program.

Mullewa Community Resource Centre, Pollinators, Geraldton Bowling Club and Ngala Community Services are some of the major funding recipients.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn congratulated the successful applicants.

“I’m glad we can give a financial helping hand to these community groups and organisations through our Community Grants Program,” he said.

“It’s been a tough few months with COVID-19 and Cyclone Seroja, and the Midwest has certainly felt the effects of both.

“Through the Community Grants Program we have been able to support a variety of causes and initiatives that make Geraldton a great place to live, work, study and play.”

The following groups had successful applications:

  • Mullewa Community Resource Centre – 2021 Outback Bloom Mullewa’s Wildflower Festival
  • Geraldton Yacht Club – 60th Flying 15 State Championship & Dragon Boat Classic 2021
  • Geraldton Board Riders Junior Development Club – Frothin’ Fools Gero Groms Fest 2022
  • Rotary Club of Geraldton – Rotary WA Driver Education Program
  • Pollinators – Geraldton Light Show Equipment
  • Ngala Community Services – LEAD Program
  • Geraldton Bowling Club – Carpark resurfacing
  • Tarcoola Tennis Club – Installation of Security Screens/Mesh for Club House
  • Anglican Parish of Bluff Point – Growing Community Spaces
  • Northern Agricultural Catchments Council Incorporated – National Malleefowl & WA Threatened Species Forum
  • Batavia Coast Replica Boat Association – Preservation Works


Funding through the Community Grants Program is offered up to twice a year for activities, programs and services with support of $2,000 - $20,000 available.

The City’s Community Project Support Grants is currently open and has funding of up to $2,000 available. Applications close on Monday 31 May.
