Flights in and out of Geraldton are becoming more frequent with additional services being added every week.

Commencing next week, a total of 11 flights will be on offer for the Perth to Geraldton route.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said it was an extremely positive outcome for travel in the Midwest.

“We are getting more and more flights every week which is really positive news for Geraldton,” he said.

“The community have asked for more flights and more options when it comes to flight times, so it’s great to see our main airline listening and delivering on this.

“I now encourage the community to use flight services where possible to ensure the viability and continuation of the increased schedule.”

Beginning next week, there will be 11 services for the Perth to Geraldton route, with options for both morning and afternoon flights.

In August this year, the City was lobbying for more flights with only three scheduled flights available at the time. Since then, the flight schedule has gradually increased.

“We’ve been in conversations with Qantas for quite some time and we thank them for their support,” Mayor Van Styn added.

“The City and Council will continue to do what we can to support aviation in the Midwest, and we’ve been focused on building capacity to support growth and further development in the region.

“It’s important the service level maintains high, and we hope our community members and businesses will help support this.”
