The Aquarena is aiming to re-open on Monday 18 May with increased measures, pending mandatory test results being received from the Department of Health.

The Aquarena will only open the indoor pool and access to other pools, including the hydrotherapy pool, will be varied and assessed on an as required basis.

A pool timetable is available on the Aquarena’s website for customers to view the allocated one hour sessions available to book.

Once opened, the Aquarena will operate for the following hours:

  • Monday 6am-3pm
  • Tuesday 9am-6pm
  • Wednesday 6am-3pm
  • Thursday 9am-6pm
  • Friday 6am-3pm
  • Saturday 9am-6pm
  • Sunday 9am-6pm

There will be measures in place to ensure there is only 20 people at the facility at one time, ensuring social distancing is still being adhered to, maximum time in the facility will be monitored to one hour, increased cleaning and hygiene methods and no shared equipment will be used.

While toilets will be open, there will be no access to change rooms as per state government restrictions, and customers are requested to come ready in their swimming attire.

Please note that there will be no casual entry into the Aquarena, all entry must be made via a confirmed booking over the phone. The introduced booking system is to allow Aquarena staff to ensure the correct restrictions are followed.

Community health and safety has always been, and remains, a top priority for the City of Greater Geraldton as the current health crisis continues to be monitored closely and the situation changes rapidly.

The community is reminded to help stop the spread and keep facilities open by complying with the required restrictions that will be in place at many City facilities.

It’s crucial that in this next step people remain patient and respect the implemented measures to ensure we can get back to normal as quick as possible.

Information will be released in a timely manner as more decisions are made about facilities and services, and there will be updates on the City’s website and social media channels.

All changes to City facilities and programming can be found here.

The Mullewa swimming pool remains closed.

There will be full FAQs available on the Aquarena’s website.
