City Services Update #14: Phase 4

The City of Greater Geraldton wishes to advise there will be various updates to City services and facilities from Saturday 27 June as part of the government’s phase four restrictions.

Geraldton Regional Library:

-Remains open with attendance register no longer in place.

-Opening hours are now as follows:

  • Monday and Wednesday, 1pm-5.30pm
  • Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 10am – 5.30pm
  • Saturdays 10am-12.30pm
  • Sundays – closed

-There is no limit on visitation, however the 2sqm rule must be followed. This means there are limits on Storytime attendance and capacity in various meeting rooms.

Aquarena:

- The Aquarena remains open with current opening hours remaining unchanged.

- There is now an increase to capacity which will allow for 650 people – whilst complying with the 2sqm rule.

- There is no longer limits for duration of visits – except for the hydro pool which is capped at two hours max.

- Bookings are only essential for the hydro pool and can be made by contacting the Aquarena on 9956 6906.

- Reduced opening hours remain in place. Check out the Aquarena website for full details.

QEII Seniors and Community Centre:

- Most programs have been reinstated other than cards, chess, mahjong and art classes.

- Informal visits are not permitted at this time. 

- Program bookings are only required for indoor bowls and balance gym.

- To check whether your class or program is running, contact the QEII Centre on 9956 6636 to book.

Geraldton Visitor Centre:

- Is open at reduced hours until its co-location at the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery.

- Opening hours are currently Monday to Friday, 9am to 1pm.

Geraldton Regional Art Gallery

- Remains closed at this time however is planned to re-open in August with the commencement of the 2020/21 Exhibition Programme.

Queens Park Theatre:

- Remains closed to the public for shows but is re-opened for hire from regular user groups only.

Mullewa Facilities:

- The Mullewa Library is open with full borrowing privileges reinstated and public computers now available.

- Mullewa Rec Centre is now open.

- Mullewa Caravan Park is now open.

Community Halls:

- Re-opening of community halls will sit with individual associations.

Sporting Ovals:

- Bookings can be submitted through the Ground Management Committee for City approval.

Events and bookings:

- Event applications can be submitted to the City, but they must be within the guidelines and restrictions from authorities.

- The Geraldton Multipurpose Centre is now open and taking bookings for select functions.

Community members are reminded to be patient in order for staff to ensure health and safety measures. 

Increased cleaning and hygiene measures remain in place.
