Christmas on the Terrace

Hold onto your Santa hats, Christmas on the Terrace is back next week, and it’s set to light up the CBD with festive cheer!

With over 100 stallholders joining businesses and entertainers on Marine Terrace, Christmas on the Terrace is one of Geraldton’s most well-loved and attended events.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said this year’s celebrations would be no exception to previous years, with thousands set to pack the main strip.

“It goes without saying, Christmas on the Terrace brings so many people right to the heart of our CBD for an epic night of shopping, food, fun and celebrations,” he said.

“This event is all about supporting local – so along with our wonderful traders in Marine Terrace, we welcome a swag of unique stallholders, making it the perfect time to get your Christmas shopping done!

“Anyone who has attended Christmas on the Terrace in the past knows how special this event is. So, we encourage our wonderful community to get behind this event, like always, and help us celebrate this festive season.”

There will be no shortage of entertainment with three stages along Marine Terrace and a packed schedule of fantastic musicians, dancers and performers.

Something new event-goers can expect this year is “Blue Heeler Festival Square” to house one of three stages, along with Christmas decorations, food trucks and spots to sit down and take it all in!

WA Country Health Service will be putting a healthy spin on festivities with “Mentally Healthy Christmas” showcasing 14 local service providers offering interactive activities and games, as well as tools and information about how to stay mentally healthy this Christmas.

While the adults will enjoy ticking everything off their Christmas gift list, the kids will have no shortage of fun!

Football West along with Football Futures, YACWA and GSAC will deliver ‘Street Soccer’ in the Rage Cage along the Foreshore from 4-8pm and local youngsters will see their Christmas Drawings up in lights in Rocks Laneway!

There will be face painting, pony rides, games, stilt walkers – and of course the opportunity to meet Santa and get a photo! And if you’re not a fan of Santa – the Grinch will be roaming the streets as well!

There will be various road closures and changes to parking to allow for set of the event, along with safe access for pedestrians.

For further information regarding road closures as well as the program of events, check out the City’s website for more information.
