Christmas spirit springs to life in Marine Terrace

Christmas has well and truly unfolded in Marine Terrace with the installation of 12 unique Christmas Trees completed by local artists.

Artists were selected to transform the wooden trees earlier this year with their own interpretation of the festive season. The end results includes a variety of designs that are bound to enchant onlookers.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said it was great to support local artists.

“Marine Terrace receives very high foot traffic every week and it’s fantastic that we’re able to showcase some of our local artist’s work in such a prominent location,” he said.

“The Christmas Trees look absolutely fantastic and I commend all the entrants on producing such high-quality designs.

“Make sure you get down to check them out and support our local arts scene.”

Some of the artists involved in the initiative include Lynda Howitt, Rachel Weaver, Jordan Andreotta and Jason Stacey. An entry from Juniper Hillcrest is also featured.

The Christmas Trees feature alongside the Christmas Craypots that were a huge hit last year. The decorations will be on display until the first week of January 2019.
