Geraldton Regional Art Gallery (GRAG) is set to be the final stop on a national tour for the highly acclaimed exhibition The Visitors by Alice Springs artist Franca Barraclough.

Three years in the making, The Visitors is a powerfully evocative showcase that reveals the impact and influence of settler culture on desert life through a series of billboard style photographs and multimedia installations.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn is eager to see this latest offering.

“I am always impressed with the range of exhibitions GRAG delivers and this latest show is no exception,” he said.

“Central Australia is a captivating part of our nation and Franca Barraclough’s collection of fascinating artworks reveal the impact of external elements on the diverse communities of that region.

“I urge everyone to come and enjoy this stunning representation of life in the Red Centre.”

The Visitors is supported by Artback NT, Regional Arts Australia, Source Vibrations, Australia Council for the Arts and the Northern Territory Government.

The exhibition opens alongside Ink in the Lines at 6pm Friday 3 February and will remain on display until Sunday 12 March.

Tickets to the opening night event are limited, so patrons are requested to register their attendance via Eventbrite
