Fools Fest is back for another mammoth year and is bringing with it some of Australia’s most exciting emerging artists.

Heading up the event is Arnhem Land rapper Baker Boy who made his mark on the 2017 Triple J Hottest 100 by landing at No.17 and No.76.

The 21-year old rapper, dancer and activist features a mixture of English and Yolgnu Matha language in his songs and will be joined by another Triple J regular, 17-year old producer and rapper Arno Faraji.

Faraji hails from Perth and is the first hip hop artist to win the Unearthed High competition.

City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Shane Van Styn said Fools Fest was going to be massive.

“Fools Fest was such a great success last year that planning started for the next event straight away,” he said.

“Baker Boy and Arno Faraji have been making waves around Australia and it’s because of their high-energy and catchy tunes.

“It’s great that we can lock these musicians in for Geraldton and bring some more massive acts to the region.”

Joining the line-up on the day is Pow!Negro, Sly Withers as well as Dallas Woods, Zenwire and Branzian.

Fools Fest will also feature the Sweet Orange Productions Silent Disco, a live art battle, skate demos, dodge ball, photo booth and chill out spaces the Luau and Zen Zone.

The City of Greater Geraldton’s Fools Fest is taking place on Saturday 7 April from 2pm to 8pm at Stow Gardens on the Geraldton Foreshore.

The drug and alcohol free event is proudly supported by Rio Tinto, LotteryWest and Healthway.
