Aquarena limits capacity

Published on Friday, 20 March 2020 at 8:50:29 AM

The Geraldton Aquarena have announced they will be limiting capacity at the facility to no more than 100 people.

Community health and safety remains a top priority for the City of Greater Geraldton as the global Coronavirus outbreak continues to be monitored closely.

With bans cancelling non-essential indoor gatherings over 100 people, the Aquarena have implemented necessary measures to comply.

Aquarena patrons will be issued a wristband upon entrance and will return the wristband on exiting the facility. This practice will aid staff in ensuring capacity is at a reasonable number.

To ensure hygienic practices, patrons will place the wrist bands on themselves and replace it into a container on exit, where it will be disinfected before being reissued.

Given the restrictions, Aquarena staff may be required to deny access should these limits be reached.

Community members are advised the following to maximise their opportunity to access the Aquarena:

  • Call ahead and ask our customer service officers the current availability.
  • Choose an alternate time during the Aquarena off peak times between 6am – 9am or 6pm – 8pm Mon – Fri.
  • Consider limiting the length of your activity to 45 minutes to one hour sessions per visit.

Community members are reminded that the Disco scheduled for this Saturday 21 March at the Aquarena has been cancelled and all school swimming carnivals have also been cancelled.
