City of Greater Geraldton’s Airport Manager Bob Urquhart has been recognised for his dedication after being awarded the WA Chairman’s Award for outstanding service to the airport industry.
He attended the Australian Airports Association Annual General Meeting of the WA Division in September where he received the respected award.
Serving in the industry for more than 40 years, Mr Urquhart said he was honoured to receive the accolade.
“It feels amazing to have been recognised by my peers for this award,” he said.
“Being such a specialised industry, I’ve accumulated a vast bank of knowledge over the span of my career.
“I’m amazed at the progression we have made here at the Geraldton Regional Airport and there is only great things to come.”
City of Greater Geraldton Chief Executive Officer Ross McKim praised Mr Urquhart for his unwavering dedication and passion.
“We’ve had a lot of big things happening at the Airport including the runway extension - with works set to commence this month,” he said.
“Bob has been a driving force behind our Airport operations for some time and we’re very proud he has been awarded for his efforts.”
Mr Urquhart isn’t a stranger to the spotlight having taken out the Chairman’s Award in 2014. He was also appointed to the prestigious National Board of the Australian Airports Association in 2013.
