Geraldton has a number of local art galleries featuring exhibitions from local, national and international artists. 

Geraldton Regional Art Gallery

Located in the heart of town in the old Town Hall, the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery opened its doors in August 1984.

The Gallery, which is jointly funded and operated by the City and the Art Gallery of Western Australia,  houses and cares for the City of Greater Geraldton Art Collection that comprises over 475 artworks, principally paintings and works on paper.

Renovations in 1984 saw the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery become the first regional ‘A’ class venue in WA, this “A” classification allows for an annual schedule of some 25 exhibitions of the highest calibre accessed from local, state, national and international sources.

ACDC

If you live in the City of Greater Geraldton or the Midwest region, The Arts and Cultural Development Council (ACDC) is your community arts organisation encompassing culture and the arts, visual arts, performing arts, music and dance.

ACDC receives funding from Country Arts WA and the City of Greater Geraldton. They also source additional funds to help promote innovation and community participation in arts and cultural development.

Yamaji Art Centre

Yamaji Art is an emerging Aboriginal art centre in Western Australia providing professional services for artists with a focus on sustaining cultural maintenance and arts practice in a variety of mediums including painting, textiles, weaving, print-making, design and performance.

The Aboriginal Art Centre exists to guarantee that work is authentic, is properly documented, that the provenance is recorded and that cultural heritage is archived for future generations

The centre includes a gallery and sales outlet plus an artist’s studio and workshop.

Lansley Fine Art Gallery

Lansley Gallery showcases the artwork of local artist Erica Faith Lansley.

Working from the Gallery, the artist’s pieces have been inspired by her love of the Ocean and have received international recognition and acclaim.

Lansley is a local artist having resided here in Geraldton since 1996, she has had an art career spanning over 37 years, which commenced in UK – Europe. She has also worked as an art educator/lecturer to students at University.
