COAST is a theatre production commissioned and produced by the City of Greater Geraldton and staged in our Queens Park Theatre.

After a long absence, a man returns to Geraldton with his pregnant wife. The joy of returning and rediscovering his affection for his home town is tempered however by a chance encounter with a charismatic young woman who provokes the couple to confront their own lives, identities and hopes for the future of their unborn child, and come to terms with the sometimes troubling, ghosts from the past.

Set in contemporary Geraldton, with historical flashbacks to the forces and events which forged Geraldton’s character, the play explores often in a comic way, the complexities and contradictions of the tricks, truths and distortions of memory and the positives and drawbacks of returning to a place where vivid and formative experiences occurred.

Written & Directed by Chris Edmund.
