Australia Day 2021

Past Event

‘We’re All Part of the Story’ is the theme for this year’s Australia Day event, which is set to take place at Stow Gardens on the Geraldton Foreshore this month.

Members of the community are bound to enjoy the entertainment, live music featuring 11-piece cover band ‘Proof’ and local performances from ‘Soundscapes of the Midwest’, food trucks as well as the welcoming of new Australian citizens.

Winners of the Community Citizen of the Year Awards will also be announced and celebrated.

Those who have registered for the Geraldton event will be treated to a free picnic blanket featuring powerful Australia Day messaging thanks to sponsorship from the Australia Day Council. There are limited number of blankets available, so early registration is essential.

Programming officially kicks off at 3pm and concludes at 9.30pm on Tuesday 26 January at Stow Gardens on the Geraldton Foreshore.

On the day, attendees will have to scan in using the SafeWA app to ensure community safety is upheld.

The event area will be fenced off to comply with COVID-19 requirements and advice from the State Government’s Chief Health Officer. Upon arrival, attendees will be assigned an area with a picnic blanket from a COVID-19 marshal.

Australia Day 2021 commemorations in both Geraldton and Mullewa are alcohol and smoke free events.
