About the position:

The City is seeking a Weighbridge Administration Officer to support the seven day a week operation of Meru Landfill Waste Management Facility. This position is responsible for operating the Meru Landfill Waste Facility Weighbridge, offering waste administration support and customer service to all the Landfill users.

This part time position is offered as a ten (10) month fixed term contract until mid-October 2021, working 43.75 hours per fortnight rostered from Monday to Sunday, including public holidays.  

Key accountabilities:

  • Manage all weighbridge functions at the Meru Landfill Facility.
  • Work with and advise general public and contractors using Meru Waste Facility in a polite and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate details of waste entering and leaving the Meru Site using the Mandalay Software.Collect and process fees (both cash and credit card) and balance the till on a daily basis in accordance with Council administrative and financial procedures.
  • Ensure that regular routine daily maintenance is carried out and that relevant log books and pre-start are completed.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will ideally have demonstrated experience in a similar role or hold a unit of competency in Operate Weighbridges.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits

A salary starting from $57,419 pro rata per annum or $29.0582 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
