About the position:

The City is seeking an experienced applicant to coordinate the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the City’s OS&H system and practices. The position is the primary OS&H role in the City and will be responsible for the daily provision of OS&H services for across City operations and is supported by an OS&H graduate.

Key accountabilities:

  • Implement and monitor the City’s OS&H Management System and Plan
  • Coordinate the City’s transition to operation under the forthcoming WHS Harmonised Legislation.
  • Provide ongoing advice to employees consistent with the City’s policies and procedures, OS&H legislation and guidance material.
  • Oversee the City’s OS&H incident reporting, investigation and corrective action management function.
  • Conduct workplace observations, inspections, OS&H monitoring and auditing as required.
  • Administer the City’s electronic OS&H application Myosh.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant requires extensive experience in the practical application of OS&H principles, standards and processes in a variety of work settings including the conduct of hazard inspections, audits, risk assessments, accident/incident investigations, tool box meetings, and training and advising internal stakeholders. Additionally, this position requires comprehensive communication skills with a proven ability to build and sustain partnerships as well as negotiate and influence at all levels in order to continuously improve corporate and operational OS&H performance.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $96,770 per annum or $48.9726 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
