The Mullewa District Office, as a branch of the City of Greater Geraldton, provides a wide range of administrative and community and cultural development services to the town. The Plant Operator undertakes operational activities associated with the provision of road construction and maintenance services to the City of Greater Geraldton within the Mullewa District, working under direction to ensure all work is carried out within agreed programs and budget constraints and in compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, City policies, procedures and relevant Australian standards.

This position works a 9 day fortnight, with every second Friday as a rostered day off.

Key accountabilities:

  • Construct and maintain unsealed roads and shoulders within the City’s network.
  • Ensure that all work undertaken is to a high standard and within budget and agreed timeframes.
  • General operation of plant and hand tools, carry out general maintenance and/or labour duties as required;
  • Operate and maintain plant, hand tools and specialised road maintenance equipment in a competent manner including rollers, loader, grader, trucks and other machinery as required.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will hold a HC licence and have experience in the safe use of plant and equipment associated with road construction, including rollers, loaders, graders and trucks.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $63,792 per annum or $32.2833 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
