Drug Aware Fools Festival

Fans of the Drug Aware Fools Festival will rejoice when they hear that the event is back for its third year and that singer and songwriter Thelma Plum is headlining the event.

The Triple J artist is well-known for her chilled out tunes, collaborations with Golden FeaturesDustin Tebbutt and AB Original as well as a Triple J Unearthed award when she was just 19.

Thelma’s cover version of Flight Facilities ‘Clare De Lune’ became the soundtrack to the recent Telstra and Apple advertising campaign in which she also appeared. Her new single ‘Not Angry Anymore’ has just been released in the build up to her debut album which includes song writing collaborations with, amongst others, Paul Kelly and David Le’aupepe from Gang of Youths.

Thelma Plum will be joined by alternative Perth-based band Great Gable, indie rockers Wooly Mammoth and local act Rollercoast.

Alongside free tunes, festival-goers can enjoy an art battle, chin up challenge, plus a variety of stallholders to keep your hunger and thirst under control.

Taking place earlier in the day is the Frothin’ Fools Gero Groms Surf Competition at Back Beach and the Fools Festival Beach Soccer Tournament in Stow Gardens.

The Drug Aware Fools Festival is a drug and alcohol free event that will take place from 3pm to 8pm on Saturday 6 April in Stow Gardens, Geraldton Foreshore.

The City of Greater Geraldton would like to thank HealthwayRio Tinto and LotteryWest for their sponsorship.
