Draft Strategic Community Plan

Over the past 24 months the City has sought the community's input in a major review of the 2017 Strategic Community Plan.  We asked for feedback on the services we provide and what you believe our priorities should be in the coming years. More here

The community's comments and ideas have been compiled in the Draft Greater Geraldton 2031 Strategic Community Plan (SCP). The Plan outlines our community’s vision and aspirations along with the actions the City will take in the next ten years to deliver them.

We now want your feedback on the Draft SCP to make sure we got it right.

Draft Strategic Community Plan

How was the community engaged in the major review?

In late 2019, the City launched its biggest community engagement campaign in over five years, the Community Voice - Shaping our Future Project. The Project gave residents the chance to have their say on the services the City provides,  future capital works projects and share their aspirations for the future of the City region.  Over a 12 month period the City undertook the four stage process below which informed the review of the Strategic Community Plan.

How often is the plan updated?

The Strategic Community Plan undergoes a minor review every two years and a major review every four years to ensure the community's vision for the future and the blueprint to achieve it are still relevant.

Ongoing engagement with the community means the City not only understands the current wants and needs of the community, it ensures any changes are reflected in the new plan following the review processes.

The following engagement activities and processes undertaken in the last four years were also used to inform the major review of the plan.
