Aqua Fitness

Work out but don't feel the heat exhaustion and be dripping in sweat while you do Cardiovascular, strengthening and muscle toning exercises, Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chi and Aqua Bike workouts in the pool!

Aquatic exercise is gentle on the joints and muscles yet extremely efficient in achieving fitness results. The water resistance achieves the tone, strength, flexibility and fitness you need rapidly!

Aqua Fitness Class Details

  • Aqua Bikes

Geraldton is one of only two Aquatic centres boasting Aqua bikes in Western Australia! Your instructor will lead you through a series of choreographed rides to inspirational music. Incorporating cardiovascular fitness and leg strength drills at a range of intensities and speeds. This class can be low to high intensity depending on your efforts!

  • Deep water

Involves Deep water running and many other whole body resistance exercises for a great cardiovascular and strengthening workout. Flotation devices including belts, gaitors and dumbells allow you to try different levels of intensity.  Depending on your effort and intensity, you can blaze your way through 500 calories in a 45 minute session. Deep water running is also ideal for those recovering from injuries or suffering with back pain. Being deep in the water decreases stress on your joints, as well as increases your range of motion. Because there is no impact, an injured athlete can train in the water to remain fit while waiting for their injuries to heal.

  • Lite Pace

An extremely fun light hearted and light to moderate pace workout to music. Gain strength, stamina, flexibility, co-ordination and cardiovascular fitness without the stress on your joints. Perfect for seniors and entry level participants but not limited to!

  • Circuit

A mix of strength and cardiovascular exercises designed to burn calories, build muscle, tone your entire body and enjoy a fun social interactive workout using a wide range of aquatic equipment. A different workout every week!

  • Aqua Shape

An ultimate way to get a tight and toned core with dynamic training honing in on your abs, obliques, glutes, back and “slings” connecting the upper and lower body. This workout will keep you looking good and feeling strong.

  • Hydro Chi

 Hydro Chi is a fusion of Yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates. Routines are set to music to make you feel relaxed. A holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.

  • Acqua pole

A fantastic toning opportunity, especially abdominal, hips and core as well as trunk and shoulders. Improves osteoarticular flexibility coordination through combined exercises. Improves cardio-vascular activity and blood circulation. Improves all posture muscles (core). Alleviates pressure on joints and back without decreasing the workload.

  • Cross Training

Aquatic Cross-training involves combining Aqua Bikes, Boxing, Hydro Buoys and other aquatic equipment to put participants through a challenging cardio vascular and strengthening workout. Often one particular activity works certain muscle groups, but not others; cross-training aims to eliminate this imbalance.

  • Boot Camp

Outdoor land and water based workout for those who love to train hard! Half this session is land based resistance training with weights, body weight and cardio exercises. Then splash into the refreshing water for the second half for swimming, Hydro bikes, deep water running, boxing! A different combination each week!

  • Spin/ Boxing Combo

You get the best of both worlds with this workout! An upper body Aqua boxing session mixed with lower body Cycling on the Hydro Bikes. Heaps of fun and a great challenge for your Saturday morning!

  • Aquacize

A blended mix of Aqua Shape and Hydro Chi, a great way to exercise at the end of a hard day, suitable for all age groups
