Natural Area Local Laws

Closing Date Saturday, March 31, 2012

Vehicles on beaches and in the bush Local Law Community Consultation The City of Greater Geraldton is seeking out individuals and representatives from community groups who use Geraldton’s beaches and rivers. The City is reviewing its Property Local Laws, how they are communicated and how to encourage compliance with the laws. If you are a surfer, fisher, naturalist, cyclist, walker and especially if you use a vehicle on the beaches or in the bush, the current Property Local Laws affect what you can do and where. For example: Driving vehicles, riding horses and bicycles is a common activity at some beaches and bushland reserves, however under the current laws some of these activities in some areas are actually illegal. If enforcement of the current laws or changes to the laws may affect your activities and lifestyle, please register to attend the public meetings and contribute to the decision-making.
