About Recycling
The City of Greater Geraldton has a number of drop-off recycling centres. Currently plastics and glass recycling is not available.
Recycling Operator

Open 8.00 am – 4.30 pm

Accepts clean cardboard, aluminium and steel cans, copper, brass, car and truck batteries, household furniture and repairable whitegoods.
Greenwaste Operator
Veolia Environmental Services, Meru Landfill.
Open 7.30 am - 4.30 pm (Except New Year’s Day, Good Friday and Christmas Day Public Holiday)

Newspapers
Geraldton Aquarena, Pass St, Wonthella 6530.
Please ensure all old newspapers are placed flat and tied into bundles of no more than 20. Although used phone books and magazines are accepted, patrons are requested to kindly remove all glossy inserts and/or pages.

- Smoke alarms
- Light globes
- X-Ray tubes
- Items containing hazardous materials and compounds
- EPIRB’s
- Explosive material
- Broken glass TV screens or monitors
- Batteries that are not an integral part of the system
- Packaging (cardboard can be recycled at Cogman Recycling)

Household batteries may be dropped off at the following locations:

- QPT box office, Cathedral Ave
- Meru Landfill weighbridge office
