- One or more buildings which, in association, constitute a single dwelling being a detached house containing habitable rooms used for normal domestic activities, a dwelling is classed as a (Class 1a) Structure.
To achieve the requirement of energy efficiency provisions of the National Construction Code of Australia and the addition provisions for Western Australia an energy efficiency assessment must be completed prior to submission of the building licence application.

When to submit a planning application
All land in the City of Greater Geraldton falls under Town Planning Scheme controls, so if you are considering erecting a building or intend using land for a purpose different to its current use please contact the Town Planning Services team first. You may need to lodge a development application and planning approval may need to be obtained before taking any further action.
