Pool
A private swimming pool is any excavation or structure able to hold water to a depth greater than 300 mm and used primarily for swimming, wading, paddling or the like activities. This also includes spas, whether proposed to be located inside or outside the house, when kept permanently filled. A Pool is classified as a 10b.Structure.

Any swimming pool or spa must have suitable barriers or safety fencing in accordance with The Building Act 2011 and Building regulations 2012 and Australian Standards AS 1926.1 1993 to resist access by young children to the pool area.

When to submit a Planning Development application?

All land in the City of Greater Geraldton falls under Town Planning Scheme controls, so if you are considering erecting a building or intend using land for a purpose different to its current use please contact the Town Planning Services team first. You may need to lodge a development application and planning approval may need to be obtained before taking any further action.
