Public Information Sessions: Natural Area Local Laws

Vehicles on beaches and in the bush

Register online

The City is reviewing its Property Local Laws, how the laws are communicated and how to encourage compliance with the laws.

If you are a surfer, fisher, naturalist, cyclist, walker and especially if you use a vehicle on the beaches or in the bush, the current Property Local Laws affect what you can do and where. For example: driving vehicles, riding horses and bicycles is a common activity at some beaches and bushland reserves, however under the current laws some of these activities in some areas are actually illegal.

If enforcement of the current laws or changes to the laws may affect your (or your groups) activities and lifestyle, please register to attend the meetings and contribute to the decision-making.

You can contribute by:

  • Downloading the information from the Natural Areas Local Laws Public Consultations Page or request a hard-copy of the background information
  • Registering online to attend one of three public workshops:
    • North – Tuesday 6th March, 5-7pm John Batten Hall, Hillview Drive, Drummond Cove
    • South – Thursday 8th March, 5-7pm Volunteer Fire Brigade Shed, Hull St, Cape Burney
    • Central – Saturday 10th March, 2-4pm CityHive, 2 Museum Place, Batavia Coast Marina in Geraldton.
