PROJECT UPDATE OCTOBER 2009

The Geraldton Foreshore and CBD Redevelopment Project has been designed to be constructed in stages over a number of years to minimise the effect on the Central Business District businesses and maximum opportunities to fund the project through grants and the City of Geraldton-Greenough cash and in-kind resources contributions.

CURRENT & FUTURE WORKS - STAGE 8

  • Installation of Durlacher Street main outfall stormwater drainage connection;
  • Construction of Durlacher Street Precinct Public Art Icon;
  • Installation of Public Artworks (Stage 2), including Forrest Street Public Art, Marine/Lester Public Art and Indigenous Artwork;
  • Proposed DOME Restaurant construction (near Durlacher Street groyne);
  • Proposed construction of Ablutions and Surf Club Facilities in the Durlacher Street precinct;
  • Eastern Breakwater—civil design of infrastructure, coastal structure protection, structural and landscape design;
  • Detailed design of Francis Street Precinct Multi-User Group Structure;
  • Construction of Francis Street Precinct Multi-User Group Structure;
  • Construction of Eastern Breakwater streetscape, roadway, parking, etc.
  • Relocation of TS Morrow and other community groups to the Multi-User Group Structure;
  • Installation of Eastern Breakwater Structures; and
  • Stage 2—Central Business District (CBD) CCTV installation.

 

PLEASE NOTE

Full completion of construction of the current project design as shown on the plan is reliant on additional funding being secured from a variety of sources. Those stages may vary dependant upon funding availability and physical construction logistics.
