Chief Executive Officer
Tony Brun is a qualified professional civil engineer, has a
Masters in Business Administration and Company Directors
Diploma. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the City of
Geraldton-Greenough.
His role in Geraldton-Greenough includes directing an
organisation with an annual budget of over $57 million and 250
full time staff. The role also includes overseeing the
completion of the $32 million foreshore project as well as
undertaking a major planning initiative to see Geraldton become
one of Australia’s powerhouse regional cities.
Tony has extensive experience in executive and professional
roles in the private sector, public works and local government.
His previous roles include being the Managing Director of Brenta
Management, a Bunbury based company which he co-founded in 2006,
the Executive Manager City Development for the City of Bunbury;
the Director of Engineering at the Town of Narrogin and he also
held engineering roles with Maroochy Shire (Qld), Main Roads
(Qld) and George Bourne & Associates (central Qld).
Tony demonstrated significant leadership in urban and public
work planning and provision. His strategic vision ensured that
the City of Bunbury was well situated to capitalise on its
potential to become one of Australia's powerhouse regional
cities. Tony was the concept originator and project
sponsor/director for the Bunbury City Vision and the Bunbury
Integrated Land Use & Transport Vision 2030.
Tony was for 4 years the Chairman of the South West Catchments
Council the peak organisation overseeing natural resource
management (NRM) for WA's south west region and invests over
$20M per annum on behalf of the state and commonwealth
governments. In the field of natural resource management, Tony's
leadership saw the evolution of the South West Catchments
Council to become one of Australia's leading NRM Regions. He was
also instrumental in putting in place best practice
environmental and sustainability systems at the City of Bunbury.
Tony is a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors,
Institution of Engineers Australia and the Institute of Public
Works Engineering Australia.
