EDUCATION PROGRAMMES

During the course of 2005 and beyond, the Geraldton-Greenough Regional Art Gallery will be offering limited programmes and services to the schools of the Mid-West region. Schools will receive notification of specific events and programmes as they occur.  For bookings and any enquiries please contact the Geraldton-Greenough Regional Art Gallery on 9964 7170.  Exhibitions and programmes offered by the Galleries have value beyond the area of visual arts in addressing social, historical and technical issues.

Gallery Tours

Gallery Tours are always available to students. Tours may be structured, with a guide leading students and talking about the exhibition, or tours may be informal, students moving through the exhibition at their own pace with gallery staff or teachers on hand to answer any question they may have. There is no charge for this service. Tours can be organised by calling either 9964 7170 or 9964 7180.

Bus Subsidies

For certain Art on the Move toured exhibitions a subsidy for the charges associated with students travelling to and from the exhibition is available. This bus fee subsidy has been made possible by Art on the Move and Healthway.

Visiting Artists and Curators

The Geraldton-Greenough Regional Art Gallery arranges visits to the Gallery by several artists and curators from the metropolitan area and other states. Lectures and workshops with these arts workers will be offered to all schools and free public floor talks and lectures by these arts workers are arranged. During visits by such professionals, both student needs and teacher professional development needs are catered for.
